REMODELING AND CONSTRUCTION

HomeWright Builders provides full-service remodeling and construction for homeowners across Saratoga County, Schenectady County, Albany County, and the surrounding Capital Region. Every project, large or small, gets the same attention to site conditions, code compliance, and craftsmanship that HomeWright clients have come to expect.

Historic Restoration

Older homes require a different level of knowledge and care. Our owner maintains a home inspector's license and regularly attends continuing education focused on historic structures, building materials, and period-appropriate methods. Whether preserving original detail or making a home safer and more functional without losing its character, we bring the right expertise to historic work.

The finish details are what make a renovation feel complete. We craft custom trim and millwork, wainscoting, wall paneling, coffered ceilings, built-in shelving, cabinetry, and architectural woodwork tailored to the home. Everything is designed to fit proportionally, stylistically, and structurally, so it looks like it has always been there.

Kitchen

The kitchen is the heart of the home. We approach kitchen remodels with equal attention to function and design, thoughtful layouts, quality materials, and details that make daily life easier and the space more enjoyable. From cabinet replacement to full gut renovations, every decision is made with the home's existing character and your long-term needs in mind.

Bath

A well-executed bathroom remodel improves how a home feels every single day. We handle everything from cosmetic refreshes to complete rebuilds, including tile work, fixtures, layouts, plumbing coordination, and the finish details that separate a good bathroom from a great one. Aging-in-place options, including accessible layouts and grab bar reinforcement, are available as part of any bathroom project.

Stairs

Stairs and railings define how a home feels. We build and remodel stair systems that are structurally sound, code-compliant, and designed to fit the architecture of the home around them. Services include full stair rebuilds, open stair conversions, tread and riser replacement, newel posts, balusters, and custom handrails. Stair lift preparation and aging-in-place reinforcement are also available.

Decks

A well-built deck extends your living space and adds lasting value to your home. We design and build decks, porches, and exterior structures with durable materials and proper attachment and drainage details, built to hold up through Capital Region winters and look good doing it.

Basements

An unfinished basement may be untapped living space. We transform dry basements into functional, comfortable rooms, whether that is a home office, family room, guest suite, or something else entirely. Projects include framing, insulation, moisture management, egress considerations, and all finish work. Every basement project starts with an honest assessment of site conditions to determine the possibilities and the limitations; not every basement is a candidate for creating a healthy finished space.

Bedrooms

Whether you are expanding a primary suite, converting an existing space, or adding a bedroom for a growing or changing household, we handle bedroom renovations with careful attention to layout, natural light, storage, and how the space connects to the rest of the home.
