ABOUT HOMEWRIGHT BUILDERS

Our Story

A jar of peanut butter with a spoon resting inside, placed on a table.

HomeWright Builders grew out of a simple belief: homeowners deserve better than they usually get from contractors.

The business was founded by a licensed home inspector and remodeling contractor who spent years watching homeowners get taken advantage of, by real estate agents, inspectors and, contractors who prioritized profit over people, cut corners, communicated poorly, and left problems behind. She built HomeWright Builders to be the alternative.

Her son Drew joined full time after high school in 2020. Her daughter Sarena followed a couple of years later. What started with one truck and a small trailer has grown into a full-service remodeling and home care company capable of competing with the largest firms in the Capital District, without losing what made them different in the first place.

HomeWright Builders was previously known as Informative Project Solutions. Same family. Same values. A new name that better reflects who we are and what we build.

FAQ

What areas do you serve?

We serve homeowners throughout the Capital Region of New York, including Saratoga County, Schenectady County, Albany County, and surrounding areas.

Do you work with investors, house flippers or Sellers?

No. We work exclusively with homeowners, people who live in their homes and want to improve, protect, or care for them.

Why does HomeWright have a home inspector's license?

Because it changes how every project is approached. Before any work starts, we assess the home the way a buyer's inspector would, identifying existing conditions, code concerns, and anything that could affect the project down the line. It protects clients from surprises. This approach allows us to offer a more thorough project estimate instead of trying to low ball an estimate to ‘beat the competition’, then present the client with multiple change orders as the project progresses.

Do you share photos of completed projects on social media?

Not without permission. We do not routinely post images of client homes publicly. Work samples are available on a one-to-one basis for prospective clients, with homeowner consent. Your home is your space, not a portfolio piece.

How do I reach someone if I have a question mid-project?

You call, and a decision-maker answers. Our clients have direct access to the owner and team throughout every project, mornings, evenings, whenever.

Do you help homeowners who have had problems with a previous contractor?

Yes, and this is an important part of what we do. If you have concerns about work that was done on your home, structurally, legally, or otherwise, we can assess the situation, explain your options, and help you figure out the right path forward.
